Install Rounds on your phone

Rounds installs as an app on any phone or tablet — no app store needed — so it's a tap away and can notify you of new messages.

Rounds is a progressive web app (PWA). That's a fancy way of saying you can add it to your home screen and use it just like a native app — with its own icon, a full-screen view, and push notifications — while it stays the same secure, audited Rounds.

Install on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Rounds in Safari

    The install option lives in Safari, so open Rounds there (not in another browser).

  2. Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen

    Tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow) and choose "Add to Home Screen" from the list.

  3. Confirm

    Confirm the name and tap Add. The Rounds icon appears on your home screen, ready to open like any app.

Install on Android

  1. Open Rounds in Chrome

    Open Rounds in Chrome on your Android device.

  2. Use the install prompt

    Chrome usually shows an "Install app" or "Add to Home screen" banner. If not, open the browser menu (the three dots) and choose "Install app".

  3. Confirm

    Confirm, and Rounds is added to your home screen and app drawer.

Turn on push notifications

Once Rounds is installed, you can allow it to send push notifications. When you're prompted, choose to allow them — that's what lets a new message reach you when the app isn't open.
