The channel directory

The directory is the catalog of every channel in your agency. Use it to discover the conversations that matter to your role and join them yourself.

Your channel list on the left shows only the channels you've already joined. The channel directory shows the bigger picture: every group and announcement channel in your agency, so nothing useful stays hidden.

Open the directory

The directory has its own button in the chat workspace — the magnifying-glass icon at the top of the channel list.

  1. Start in the chat workspace

Sign in to Rounds; you land on the chat workspace. Look at the Conversations header at the top of the channel list on the left.
  2. Click the magnifying-glass icon

It's the first icon in the row beside Conversations. Clicking it opens the Browse channels page.
  3. Find what you need

The directory lists every group and announcement channel in your agency, each with a short description and member count. Names are written to make their purpose obvious — for example #night-shift or #discharge-planning.
  4. Join with one click

Click Open on a channel to join it. It immediately appears in your channel list on the left, and you can read and post right away.
Step 2 — the highlighted magnifying-glass icon at the top of the channel list opens the directory.

What you'll see in the directory

The Browse channels page — every channel in your agency, with a description, member count, and a one-click Open button.

Group channels

Channels you can join freely. Joining adds you as a member and you can post like anyone else.

Announcement channels

You can join to receive agency-wide notices, but posting stays limited to designated people.

Leaving a channel

If a channel is no longer relevant to you, you can leave it. It disappears from your channel list, and you stop receiving its messages and notifications. You can always rejoin later from the directory — leaving isn't permanent.

Can't find a channel?

If the conversation you need doesn't exist yet, it simply hasn't been created. Channels are created by agency admins — ask yours to set one up, and point them at the admin guide if they need a hand.
